Creating Your First eBay Listing: A Step-by-Step Guide

Reaching the SYI Form

1. Login to ebay.com with your eBay User ID and password

3. Select “Tell us what you’re selling” and you will see the “Select – a product category” field 

2. Click on the “Sell” option available in the top right hand corner – this will take you to the main page of the SYI Form

4. Enter a category manually or select one from the drop-down menu titled “Browse categories”

Listing Details

1. Enter your preferred title in “Title”. Your title should be whatever best describes your item.

2. If you want to sell multiple variations of your item, you can use the “Create variations” option to creating a listing with multi-quantities, prices and variations.

3. If applicable to your listing, add the Universal Product Codes (“UPC”).

4. Under the “Condition” field, select the condition of your item. You can choose from the options set out in the drop-down menu.

5. The “Photos” field allows you to add the product images to your listing. You can add up to 24 images for each item.

6. In the “Item Specifications”, field you can provide information about the item you’re selling. Typically, sellers include information about the brand, size type, size, color and style of their items.

7. Give a detailed, mobile-friendly description of your item.

Best Practice Tip: Use high-quality photos, taken from every angle of the item. Do show the true status of the item (including any flaws or scratches that might exist).

You can edit your payout settings under “Payments” in Seller Hub. 

2. In the “Returns Option” field state whether you will be accepting returns or not. If “yes”, then also include the details required to complete the “Domestic  and  International Returns” field.
